Celebrating People in Action

Nominate Volunteers in Our Community

Each year we recognize volunteers in our community at our annual Celebrating People in Action luncheon. If you know of an individual or groups that have given back to our community please nominate them by Monday, March 28, 2016.

The nominations you submit are reviewed by a select committee of active community volunteers. There's no need to submit multiple nomiations for the same person or there will be no social media voting process. Just write a concise and compelling nomination. Thank you so much for participating and honoring volunteers in our community.

Volunteer Advocate of the Year

Do you know an individual or group to nominate for Volunteer Advocate of the Year? An individual or group who has advanced volunteerism in our community as a whole by:

  • Promoting and supporting volunteerism throughout the community
  • Encouraging others to volunteer
  • Providing resources to increase volunteerism
  • Encouraging professionalism in volunteer management
  • Speaking out on the importance of volunteering

Volunteers in Action

Help us honor an outstanding individual volunteer or group of volunteers! If you know of an individual or a group who has made a significant contribution to a non-profit agency or event through their volunteer efforts, please nominate them by completing the online form.

  • Any individual or group who contributed to the Lincoln/Lancaster County community through volunteer service at a non-profit agency in 2015
  • Duties performed with no compensation (other than reimbursement for expenses incurred)
  • Volunteer activity can be in a structured or unstructured setting

Youth Volunteers in Action

Help us honor an outstanding young person or youth group. If you know of a youth or group who has made a significant contribution to a non-profit agency or event through their volunteer efforts, please nominate them by completing the online form.

  • Any individual or group, in high school or younger, who contributed to the Lincoln/Lancaster County community through volunteer service at a non-profit agency
  • Duties performed with no compensation (other than reimbursement for expenses incurred)
  • Volunteer activity can be in a structured or unstructured setting

Recognition of Corporate Service

This award recognizes a company’s promotion of their workplace employee volunteer programs and support of employee volunteerism in Lincoln and Lancaster County Nebraska. This award will recognize the Employee Volunteer Program(s) that effectively integrate volunteerism into the company’s business culture. Its record of volunteer service exemplifies a deep commitment to the community.

Criteria:

  • Effectively integrates volunteerism into their business culture
  • Effectively mobilizes a significant portion of the employee population as demonstrated by employees with representation across various management levels, job categories, departments, etc.
  • Is aligned with business objectives
